| So I've been back from Spain for a while now. It's been two months that I've been eating American food and living the busy American life. I still have yet to start working but that's in the making. I'm hoping to get accepted into grad. school which should be known to me next month. I have the most amazing guy as a part of my life now and that encourages me a whole bunch. He's my best friend. I have been able to spend lots of time with friends and family since I've been back and I have plenty of free time since I'm not in school or working at the moment! I am unsure where my future is headed but I know that the person I trust the most is in control of that. He'll bring good out of it all for me. Soy su papel maché. | | |
| It is all coming to an end. Yes, indeed. I have six days left in Barcelona. I don't have much planned which is good and bad. I feel under the weather in more ways than one. I think I got the flu bug so that has my body down and weak with a lack of motivation for studying. I also am going to miss the people here, the culture, the food, the school, the church, the weather, the beach, the mountains...and on the list goes. I do look forward to seeing people, getting ready for Christmas, celebrating the holidays with friends and family, eating American food, smelling fresh air, the weather, etc. Any ideas of what I can do during my last few days in Barcelona? By the way, Nick Don, I can't comment on your page for some reason and it asks for my password which I don't remember so if my xanga ever gets signed out, goodbye xanga. So...hello! I have missed you and what have you been doing with your life? Update me please! | | |
| I hate goodbyes.
The start of my goodbye-ing began this past weekend. I've made comfortable, real relationships over here in Spain and now I have to relinquish them. What is God doing?
Most of these people I doubt I will see again this side of heaven. I'm glad that eternity is so much longer than living on this earth. I'm not depressed but I am sad to have to say goodbye. Parting really is such (bitter) sweet sorrow.
How do you say goodbye? "Hey, I hope you have a great...life?" or "Hey, have a great day" now that one is really awkward, only wishing them one great day.
So I'm stuck. I could always opt to not say goodbye and just let it come and go without my participation. I just feel I need to show my gratitude for how these people have impacted my life here. They have been sources of joy for me and strength in my times of need and encouragement. You never know when you meet someone if they will be a life-long friend or just there for a season yet, you have to treat them as someone you may see forever.

| I had the most fabulous Thanksgiving dinner I've had in awhile (no offense to my family). It was so different and unique. I mean, it was in Spain by all means, with a bunch of Spaniards and of course we were speaking in Spanish. We gave thanks to our God and broke bread together or rather, carved the turkey. We all gave thanks for each other and make some good relationships with them. I can't wait to see them in heaven if not again here on this earth. I shall miss them.
Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat. That's how I know.

| Happy early Thanksgiving! I have a question: What is Thanksgiving all about? I mean, why do we celebrate it? I know it isn't all for the food or even a pre-christmas thing. I've been asked and I'm not sure it means more than the pilgrims being incompetent in food-making so the Indians showed them how it was done. Then they broke bread and gave thanks to God. Why is it called the day of active giving of thanks? At least, that is how it would be translated from Spanish. Now I am being a bit of a party pooper this year. I'm missing Thanksgiving with the people I give thanks for! It could really get me down but I shant let it. I will be home soon enough and we'll just have the repeat food for Christmas. So, since it has been tradition in my old posts to give thanks for things, here it is without further ado: 1. My God 2. My mom 3. My dad 4. My brother even though he doesn't know it 5. My sister-in-law 6. Jason 7. My grandma 8. my very own boyfriend and superb friend, Daniel 9. The Reifs 10. my friends 11. winters 12. cornerstone 13. GBU 14. study abroad 15. churros con chocolate 16. care packages 17. letters 18. my mustang 19. my openness 20. myself 21. music 22. my talents 23. snow 24. language 25. ice cream And these are a few of my favorite things...but only a few. I could certainly add to that list but alas, you would be bored and not read them but I still know what they are. Well, this is my tribute for today. Happy Thanksgiving nonetheless. | | |
